Action International was established in 1992 as a sales agency focusing on sales expansion for high-tech, biotech, and nanotech companies, through channels, strategic alliances and international operations. We work with foreign companies to assist with US market entry and sales expansion.

We support venture firms in their efforts to increase the performance of their portfolio companies in order to boost the valuations of their investments. We also build and execute the strategies, programs, and processes to effectively recruit, launch and manage sales partners and direct offices worldwide.

SPECIALISTS

Mr. David A. Meale, Managing Partner- has proven, executive level success in development and management of sales channels, strategic alliances and international operations. Mr. Meale has experience as Vice President Sales & Business Development for Sterling Software's Desktop Integration Division and in the management of international operations' sales for companies like Compuware Corporation and Systems Center.

  • Sales, channels and partnership success includes those with: OEM's, distributors, VAR's, system integrators, resellers, internet service providers (ISP's) and independent software vendors (ISV's)
  • Currently serve as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Singapore America Business Association, with a constituency of VC's, CEO's and entrepreneurs from Silicon Valley
  • Advisor to The Enterprise Network (TEN), based in San Jose, California
  • Advisor to iPark Silicon Valley (a US division of the Korean Ministry of Information and Communication) based in San Jose, California

Mr. Joe Lindwall, Partner - Mr. Lindwall has over 10 years of sales and relationship development experience, including five years sales team management. Prior to joining Action International, Mr. Lindwall was the Director of Sales and Marketing for Vizual Business Tools, plc in London, England (middle-market enterprise human resource and payroll solutions). Before joining Vizual, Mr. Lindwall managed business units for EDS, Unigraphics, and Engineering Animation.

Mr. Lindwall's vertical market expertise includes: CAD design and manufacturing software, software development tools, human resource and payroll solutions, and healthcare solutions. In addition to Mr. Lindwall's sales background, he has extensive software marketing experience including: product positioning, partner marketing, demand generation, PR, and web strategy and development.

Mr. Lindwall brings a unique blend of sales experience and marketing expertise. This combination of product marketing, demand generation, and direct sales experience allows him to produce fast, effective, and measurable business results. Mr. Lindwall holds a B.S. in Business from the University of Colorado, Boulder.


Mr. Jeffrey Morrison, Partner-
Prior to joining Action International Mr. Morrison was Chief Executive Director of iPark Silicon Valley (Korean technology incubator and facilitator). Prior to joining iPark Silicon Valley, Mr. Morrison worked with a variety of hi-technology and management consulting companies including Tandem Computers, Compaq Computers, VeriFone, Philips Electronics, HVC Technologies, Boniva Software, and Ernst & Young. In these positions he established strategic direction, built and managed sales and marketing organizations, recruited over 150 channel partners for Korean IT companies, raised venture capital, and structured over $300 million of acquisitions, divestitures, R&D partnerships, joint ventures and strategic relationships.

In addition, Mr. Morrison has been working closely with Korean companies for over 13 years. He has a unique appreciation for the cross-cultural aspects of building successful strategic relationships between Korean IT companies and US customers and channel partners. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors of two Korean IT companies.

Mr. Morrison holds an M.B.A. from the University of San Francisco and a B.A. from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA.


Ms. Pauline Architas, Partner - Pauline is a seasoned executive with a track record of contributing to the profitability of progressive, growth-oriented corporations. She has a proven ability to strategically plan and implement aggressive initiatives to grow revenues, reduce costs, improve productivity and increase net income. Her thirty years experience in the IT field includes fourteen years in Europe and Asia for US-based software companies. She has successfully opened new markets and launched new products in the domestic and international marketplace.

As President of Sterling Software's France Division for four years she had total P&L responsibility for a $25 million operation. She motivated sales and support teams to over-achieve sales quotas. In her first year as Division President she turned around a consistently unprofitable operation, from a loss of $2.5 million the previous year, to a $1 million profit. In Europe and Asia she has managed direct sales and channels, marketing, customer support, finance and human resources. Pauline has a B.A. in Mathematics from Hunter College, NY.

Mr. Naresh Parshotam, Partner- Mr. Parshotam is a veteran entrepreneur and individual investor who brings more than 13 years of experience in the software industry, including founding and being a key member of several successful start-up companies. Mr. Parshotam is an expert in enterprise IT management, including systems and applications management, Business Service Management (BSM), and wireless and voice-based access to back-office enterprise information.

Naresh also serves as a consultant and advisor to executive teams of various enterprise software companies as a hands-on business development and product management executive, and also performs product and technical audits on behalf of Venture Capitalists. In June 2002, Naresh represented Silicon Valley Singaporeans as a co-author and member of a US delegation that presented recommendations on education and, entrepreneurship and innovation to the Economic Review Committee of Singapore led by Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Naresh continues to serve as Vice President on the Board of Directors of the Singapore American Business Association (SABA).

ADVISORY BOARD

Mr. Gary Angel - is currently the CEO of Strait Solutions based near Brisbane, Australia. After a decade of running global sales organizations for several Silicon Valley Start-up companies, Mr. Angel is now CEO of Strait Solutions covering the Asia/Pacific region. Mr. Angel founded the company with the specific intent of delivering high-quality, cost effective enterprise management solutions into the Asia/Pacific markets. With more than 25 years in IT and over 20 years of experience managing large data centers and global enterprise sales teams; Mr. Angel has in-depth knowledge and experience in the Systems and Applications Management arena. He was previously Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Cendura Corporation, Jareva Technologies, (acquired by Veritas Software for $62 million in January 2003) and several other successful Silicon Valley start up companies, including Trivnet, Inc. and EXP Systems. Prior to this Mr. Angel has held key senior management positions at Computer Associates and Compuware Corporation (where he established Compuware’s Systems Management product line, growing revenues from $0 - $45 million).

Mr. Michael Bianco -
has been actively involved in corporate finance in the US and Asia for the past twenty-eight years. He has held various executive management positions for companies such as American Capital Markets Corporation, Asia Pacific Capital Corporation and Arthur Andersen & Co. As the President and CEO of Loeb Rhoades Securities Corporation, Mr. Bianco managed over US$5 billion in public and private equity and debt financing for Asian and American corporations in the domestic and foreign capital markets. Earlier in his career, as a Chase Manhattan Bank officer in New York and Tokyo, Mr. Bianco was responsible for arranging financing to build basic Japanese industries and create start-up global joint venture services, which advised on M&A and the creation of new joint venture corporations. Mr. Bianco serves on the Board of Directors for the korean chamber of commerce as well as several corporations.

Mr. Henk Bruinekreeft - based in The Netherlands, is currently a co-founder and Partner with ADDiT International B.V., an international consultancy organization that works jointly with European venture firms providing globalization services to their technology companies. Previously, Henk held prominent, sales expansion positions with Baan Company, Siemens Nixdorf and Groupe Honeywell Bull.

Ms. Gillian Parrillo - serves on the Membership Committee of the Sacramento Angels, a private equity investment club, serves on the advisory board of SFA Technologies and ServiceHub, both mobile business solution providers, is a limited partner in Akers Capital, and an investor and board member for several Sacramento-based technology startups. She also serves as co-manager of the Granite Fund, a closed-end Venture capital fund, focused on investments in pre-engineered mergers. Ms. Parrillo is the founder, CEO and president of WorldXpand, LLC. Previosly, Ms. Parrillo was Group President of the worldwide Systems Management Group of Sterling Software.
